Description & Topography:
The property is located 8 km from downtown Monteverde, in a place called “Las Nubes de Tilarán” (Tilarán’s Clouds), at about 1200 mts above sea level, and with approximately 100 neighbors, most of whom work as farmers on their own properties and small fraction travel on a daily basis to tourism related jobs in Monteverde. Milk production is by far the most important economical activity in town but coffee farms are also important. This property is entirely dedicated to milk production since it is ideal land for that, stables and pastures in general. It is also suitable for vegetables production and fruits trees (it already has small forest spots).
All the milk produced by this farm is sold to the local cheese factory (www.monteverde.net). Anyone interested in becoming a member of the association needs to buy at least 450 stocks (¢2250 each, for a total ¢1012500). This covers for 60 kg of milk a day, picked up at your farm by a cistern truck. Needles to say, one can buy as many stocks as needed.
The land has a varied topography ranging from flat land to rolling hills and slopes and also a few steeper hills, which provide it with breathtaking views of the Nicoya golf, Arenal Lake, Miravalles, Tenorio, Rincón de la Vieja Volcanoes, and the lower lands of Guanacaste and Puntarenas.
Access:
The land is bordered on one side with public road and off of this is the access to the property.
Electricity & Water:
The property has it’s own water, but public electricity and water are available.
